Fine charcoal pieces are approximately 1/4 - 1 inch chunks. Charcoal usually mixed with other orchid mediums such as orchid bark and sponge rock. Many growers have come up with their own combinations. The possibilities are many. From tree fern to hydroton, sphagnum or coconut. Rexius or Sequoia.
